Muffy Morrigan
I have been writing since I was six and set out to sell my first novel to the neighbors out of the back of my trusty yellow wagon. Since then, the need to write has been a major influence in my life and I have always worked to keep that in mind as I moved through life.
Studying history and archaeology at university and graduate school led to interesting jobs. I worked as a high school history and Latin teacher, a librarian, served on volunteer museum boards, owned my own herbal and natural health store and archaeological consulting firm.
Finally settling on news, I worked on a daily newspaper, two community weeklies, a news magazine and an alternative newsweekly. Over time I worked on every aspect of newspapers from layout to columnist. As a feature and news writer I had the opportunity to cover everything from “hard” news to investigative features. One of my features was nominated for a national award.
As a book reviewer I had the chance to read many different genres and authors.
My weekly column was popular and generated weekly comment by from readers.
Eventually, I left the world of news to pursue a full-time career as a novelist.
Currently, I live and work in the Pacific Northwest.
